A space of visual beauty, an edible interest, the Scones at Scone Edible Garden showcases how even small space has the potential to grow a diverse range of plants that have multiple uses - medicinal, edible, and beautiful; all nicely enveloping a simple and welcoming seating area for you to enjoy the beautiful food growing around you.
We specifically created the Edible garden with many plants that most of us know & grow only for their beauty, but are in fact edible, medicinal and boosting the health of the whole border... And so we are happy to give these plants time to shine in the kitchen as well. The beauty & also the health of any ecosystem lies in its diversity. Therefore we created a planting scheme that supports itself by combining benefits that each of the plants bring.
It is quite surprising that there is so little food grown in our gardens here in Scotland. We have a a tremendous opportunity to let go of the old ways and to fall in love with our land again. Greater still is to reconnect with it, to cultivate the unspoken relationship a gardener has with their garden; giving time and care, whilst receiving food, peace, and healing enjoyment in return.
